Art Therapy

Art therapy is based on the idea that making art is another way of communication/self-expression and that the creative process can be healing in and of itself.  No previous art experience is required.  Art therapy is about authentic expression, not making something "good" or "museum-worthy".  My job as your art therapist is not to interpret your artwork and tell you what to see, but rather to guide you through the art to process, express, and explore in a different way.  Art can be an amazing way to get at issues that may be hard to put words to.  It can also be a great way to access your unconscious world.  When we begin online therapy we can discuss what art supplies are available to you and each art activity is shaped for your specific needs. 

Art therapy is always an option, even if you initially only requested talk therapy.  Feel free to ask if you have any questions about art therapy and how it can help you.  There is no difference in rate.
